Will Yuko damage my hair?
No, in most cases it will enhance the hair condition. Yuko fuses proteins
into the hair thermally during the reconditioning process thus assisting
with the overall strength of the hair. The top cuticle layers of the hair
are also pressed down smoothly to improve the shine of the hair.
Why not use the old style relaxers?
Old style relaxers contain corrosive ingredients which damage the hair so
that it is weak and can therefore be changed to straight. This however
leaves the hair condition beyond repair and the straightening effects are
not always permanent.
Is coloured hair OK for Yuko?
Yes, the previously treated condition helps with the reaction of the
solutions used in the yuko System.
Can hi-lighted hair be straightened using Yuko?
Yes, but special care is required and different chemicals are used in these
applications. This would be discussed at the consultation stage.
How long does this process take?
Anything from 4 to 7 hours. The greatest of care is required and attention
to detail is imperative to achieve a sleek permanent result.
Is the process permanent?
Yes, but the hair will eventually grow back to its original texture so a
further application to the new hair will be required after 6 - 8 months.
Will I have to blow dry my hair and use irons after
Yuko straightening?
No, the hair will be straight enough to either leave or to blast dry for
quickness. However, to ensure a truly sleek look you can just lightly run
irons over the hair just to give the ends a polished look if you wish.
