What is Racoon?

These are the people who train us and supply all of the equipment that we use. They have developed a system which allows the most natural results without damage to client's own hair. Racoon are well-respected with-in the hair extension industry and supply good quality products.

How are the extensions attached?
Racoons high-tech bonding material allows us to discreetly attach the extensions without discomfort. The bonding is warmed up so that it is pliable thus allowing us to roll it onto the hair forming a neat bond. It is however not a glue and will not damage the hair either in the application or removal process. All of our bonds are attached to small proportionate amounts of hair, thus eliminating damage to the hair.

Why human hair?

Human hair is the closest match to your own hair and will be longer lasting. We have a selection of different types of human hair, which will ensure that the texture of the hair is matched. European hair is the softest and easiest to manage and can be worn either straight or wavy. Although it is more expensive, it can be re-used. Asian hair is slightly coarser and available straight, wavy or curly. This hair is cheaper and must be conditioned very intensely. We offer all of the information that will allow for easy washing and styling of the hair at home and you can blow-dry and straighten the hair using styling products in the same way that you would your own hair.


How much will it cost?

The price at this stage can only be given approximately as it depends on length and style plus the type of hair used. To add thickness and/or colour would be around £100.00 - £150.00. To extend length to reach the middle of the back if hair is already chin to shoulder length would be around £350.00 - £400.00. To extend hair which is shorter than this to the middle of the back would be around £400.00 to £500.00. How long will it last?

Everyone has individual requirements and we tailor our service to suit. If venturing into extensions for the first time we would recommend approximately 4 months with maintenance appointments every 6 to 8 weeks. Maintenance is very important as we need to remove and re-seal any extensions that need to be tidied up and this includes the ones nearest to partings. Maintenance is also required because of your own hair growth and the bonds require moving back up to their original position to ensure total comfort and a fully undetectable look. This will cost between £55.00 to £60.00 per appointment and at these appointments we will discuss what you are aiming for style wise so that we can tailor them to achieve what you require. For example as your hair grows down we may move the extensions to suit and as the time gets closer to your chosen removal time we may suggest a slightly shorter change of style to accommodate the full removal. We may suggest a few rows just so that you can continue to grow your hair slightly longer before full removal or add in a few rows just for volume and because of the high quality of the hair it can be re-used. New hair can be added in at these appointments to maintain your look and these requirements are discussed at the maintenance appointments.


I have coloured hair, can I still have extensions?

We will colour match the hair extensions to suit individual requirements and when your roots come through we can tint or foil as necessary whilst at the same time avoiding the extension bonds.

Can you recommend products which I use on my hair extensions?
Racoon have designed the “Extend” range of hair products to suit the Racoon extensions. The range includes a shampoo and conditioner and incorporates all of the styling products that you will need to assist with your after care. As well as being great for your own hair they are all specifically intended for use on extensions. Straight after your hair extension application we carry out an after care appointment where we show you exactly how to manage your extensions at home.


Can I have extensions to add colour to my hair?

We can introduce hi-lights, low-lights or slices using hair extensions and the cost for this would range from about £40.00 - £100.00 depending on how many and the thickness of your hair.
